What to expect

Inspect and measure
Pad thickness, rotor thickness, caliper movement, and a look at the hoses. Then you get the real picture.

Replace what needs replacing
New pads, hardware cleaned and greased, rotors turned or replaced. Nothing padded onto the bill.

Bed them in and road test
New brakes need a proper bedding procedure. We do it, then drive the car before handing back the keys.
Common questions
- My brakes are grinding. Should I keep driving?
- Grinding means the pad material is gone and metal is on metal. Stopping distance is longer and you're chewing up rotors. Get it looked at now.
- Do you do rotors too, or just pads?
- Both. We measure the rotors and tell you honestly whether they can be reused or need replacing. We don't automatically sell rotors.
- Can brakes really be done in a driveway?
- Yes — pads, rotors, and calipers are all normal mobile work on level ground. Brake lines and master cylinders sometimes aren't.
- How long does a brake job take?
- Usually about an hour and a half to two hours per axle, including a road test.
