- Often, yes. A single solid click with good strong lights usually means the starter solenoid engaged but the motor didn't turn. We confirm with a draw test.
- Why did tapping it make it start?
- Worn brushes inside the starter can stick. A tap frees them for one more start. It's a sign the starter is on its way out, not that it's fixed.
