Common questions

Isn't a code reader free at the parts store?

A parts store reads the code. Reading the code isn't the diagnosis — a P0420 could be a sensor, an exhaust leak, or a converter, and those are very different bills. We test to find out which.

The light is flashing, not steady. Does that matter?

A lot. A flashing check engine light usually means an active misfire that can damage the catalytic converter. Stop driving it and call.

Will you fix it the same visit?

Often yes, if the part is something we carry or can pick up locally. If it needs an order, we'll tell you the wait honestly.

Do I still pay if I don't do the repair?

Yes — the diagnostic covers our time and testing, and you keep the results. There's no charge for repairs you didn't authorize.
